$2500.00 or so 3 HP fairly big saw.

I have never heard any one on this forum speak about it.
It looks like a good saw. Any thoughts?

for a while, at least. I did see one; it uses a universal motor instead of an induction motor. That puppy is small for a 3 h.p. motor. Runs wide blades, looks like 2"+. I've heard they're noisy, probably due to the universal motor. Not much help but...

Cliff.

I believe that Stu Ablett, or "Stu Ablett in Tokyo" has one, or an older version ( possibly a CB10), that he refers to as "Big Blue".

I've seen Amazon's price go down to about $1500 on this saw occasionally. I have seen one on the floor at the Tool Nut and it looks pretty beefy for a small foot print saw. The consensus of the reviews on Amazon seem to focus the fact that it is underpowered for what it is designed to do.. Resaw. I think for between $1500 and $2500 you could get a much more versatile machine that can resaw as well as handle the rest of the things a bandsaw can do well.
The amazon link has a few reviews on it.
