If one was to place a 12 inch J/P combo machine on a mobile base, which mobile base would you choose? Figure about 600 lbs.

I've got the Hammer A3-31 on a Jet industrial base, probably a bit of overkill as it's rated for 1200#. It cost about $85 at Western tool.

I have HTC under my planer, jointer, tablesaw, bandsaw, and shaper. Love them, recommend them, and would buy them again.

HTC welded base to the correct dimensions. But note that many J/P combos have factory mobility available that is quite functional. For the very limited amount of times I've moved mine...the factory kit that was included in my deal has worked just fine.

I agree with Jim...factory mobility kit on mine and it works great. When I did own a PM60 I put it on a mobile base I bought from Grizzly...a Shop Fox and it worked fine

I'd not use mobility on a jointer unless it was the kind that got the wheels out of the equation entirely (not locking wheels) when you settled it in place. Zambus type caster will do that and so will a couple shop made stands I've seen. Jointers are one machine that no matter how long I use 'em I can still envision my pinkies fluttering around on that big cutter -EEEK.

I have the fs-30 on a jet universal #708119.Minimax doesn't recommend their mobile base for this j/p.

I wanted to be able to pull the machine straight out from the wall and push it back in and the htc base's wheels are not oriented in the correct direction so I went with the jet. I did have to cut the bar stock and drill some extra holes to get an exact fit with the jet, but it still went together faster and more solidly than any other universal base I've used.

Would this hypothetical question relate to a 12" J/P that is green in color, perhaps bearing the image of an ursine creature? If so, I have some bad news. The projected warehouse delivery date for the G0633 and G0634 has been moved from 7/6/07 to 8/17/07. Yea, I'm bummed too.

NOPE.

This one matches - accentuates my New Holland Boomer tractor.

ETA: sometime tomorrow morning. FEDEX (? ) is delivering it with a lift gate

No,

FedEx, called at 7 am

they said their lift gate was broken? hmm?

My package is only 40 miles away.

I ran out of time today to call them and see if I could pick it up.

(I also just spent a chunk of money on a new business server and OS upgrades for 5 terminals and some VPN routers today. Major computer problems at the shops today.)

Hopefully, they will be open tomorrow afternoon - late- ( i have to work tomorrow) or even Sunday.

I have a trailer and a tractor with a loader on this end.

If you have forks for the loader you should be in good shape. Get the rear ballast ready.
