Looking for plans for a traditional rocking chair. A Google search did not give me any leads to what I'm looking for.

Recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

I ran across plans in Wood magazine (2000 - forgot the month) but it is primarily a spindle type -- more work and complications than I want. Guess I'm thinking of something on the order of "slats" -- mission style?

Maybe a year ago, Woodwork had plans for an Arts and Crafts rocking chair. The article was in two parts (two consecutive issues). Is that the kind of rocker you're looking for? A friend of mine built a rocker from those plans but I can't find a picture of his chair.

Popular Woodworking has a book of Arts and Crafts projects that includes a mission style rocker with inlaid legs--it's gorgeous, and I bet it's at your local library...:D

this one? I built one a few years ago. It got me started on rockers from there. My version is at the link
