After reading about Dave Winter's fire and all the replies, I went back and found an article I read months ago. It's long, but has what appears to be some great information. It's well written by a person that seems to have done their homework. They also claim some pretty impressive credentials.

He dispells some myths and brings out some points that may not be known to many of us (I learned a lot).
Now, I just have to quit dragging my feet on the purchase of some fire extinguishers.
Blood and smoke really have a bad effect on the joy of woodworking.
