Hi all. I have just joined and this is my first post. I hope someone can help me. I have an older (70's era) Craftsman 6" jointer on an open metal stand that I need to close in somehow for dust collection (in the process of installing a 2HP Super Gorilla http://www.sawmillcreek.org/images/icons/icon7.gif). Does anyone have pics of possible solutions, be it some kind of hood arrangement, or a wooden stand, or whatever? Thanks in advance. I have learned a lot just reading posts the past few days, so I am sure there are a lot of good suggestions out there.

I have built dust chutes for several of the machines I have. It's not that tough. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c89/Woodchuck_/DeltaJointer.jpg

Since my jointer makes chips, not fine dust, I just let fall out the port and clean with broom and dust pan when done.

Off topic question Chuck -- Is that an Acme engine in the background?

Possibly off an old Mainline or BCS tiller?

About 8 hp?

I have two of them, a model 715 and a larger 737. We did commercial herb farming for 8 - 10 years and these machines were about bullet proof. They are a little decrepit now but still work fine.
