View Full Version : Just to see if I could do it category - hollow form

First time I actually had a large enough piece of wood to try a hollow form. I think I concentrated mostly on the hollowing and not much on the shape. I used a variety of tools and did it without a rig, just a tool rest and mostly scrapers that I had on hand. It helped to do it by thinking of it as a one-piece segmented form! :D

Mesquite, 7.5" wide by 5" tall. Danish oil finish, to be buffed next week.

Robert your one bad turner. Thats georgous. You're making me look bad:D I like the form, the wood and the finish. Great job. Actually it is a segmented piece......just one segment;)

Looks like you worked it out well. Nice job. Do you have a bent scraper for the inside shoulders?

Robert after I saw David Marks do one last night and now you - next website I look at will be for hollowing tools. Looks good and thanks for the extra inspiration!
