I am replacing, and setting my jointer knives for the first time. I am also setting the out feed table to the first knife and am going to set the rest of the knives in relation to this first knife. My question is are the following readings good.
Going from the outer edge towards the fence at each bolt the numbers are:
-.0025, -.003, -.0025, -.0025, -.0035
Also, how tight should the bolts be holding in the knives. They are not quite to the point where I feel the wrench my slip, if that makes sense.
Thanks in advance for the help:D
I have 4 hours in getting this knife set, hopefully with the lessons I learned from this one the rest will be a little quicker. You can read about it till your blue in the face, doing it is really the only way to learn, and it's more fun:eek:
