dogwood bowl

This is a gift for a buddy who helped me take down a large dying dogwood. He and his wife are both fairly artistic so I tried to make something less functional and more "arty". The wood is a crotch piece with some bark inclusion and had a fair amount of insect activity. I had the glue block a little off center to preserve the inclusion but that does also give it inconsistent wall thickness. Not sure how to compensate for that in the future. 6" wide at the top, 4" tall. antique oil and buffed.
