http://www.joewoodworker.com has everything you need. I've also heard that there are good veneer sources on Ebay.

For buying raw wood veneer, I like http://www.certainlywood.com/

I'm a little biased towards them because they happen to be less than an hour from my house. Never-the-less, they have a mindblowing selection of veneer. They are are great to deal with.

In addition to the other excellent sources already mentioned, Rosebud Veneer (http://www.rosebudveneer.com/) was the only one that could supply me with the specialty veneer I recently needed...cherry feather crotch in a size large enough for my vanity panels. If I recall, I think it was Dave Avery that turned me on to Todd at Rosebud. (He also sells on the 'Bay) Rosebud has incredible species selection, too.

For tools, I'd have to say Joe Woodworker...he is a great guy to do business with.

Schurch is a wizard with veneer, I've seen his work and second this recommendation.

I also purchase verneer from Certainly Wood in NY.

Here's another recommendation for both Paul Schurch's site and tools (his instructional dvd is excellent) and also Rosebud Veneer. Both are excellent IMHO. I have also bought some nice veneer from Veneer1 , Veneer Artistry and A2Zveneer off of ebay. Can't go wrong wiht any of these.
