Can you use a DVD burner to save pics on a DVD? Dunno why I can't, thought it works the same as a CD burner. Do I need a special program?

If you are using windows xp then you should be able to "drag n' drop' the pictures to the dvd. You don't need a special program.

The only thing I would add, is I would try making a couple of discs out of the same pictures. One, one session only and one multisession. Then test them in both your dvd players and any disc to printing services you use, so you know the session limits in the future.
