Thought my fellow wood junkies would enjoy this. They began excavation for the addition to the house yesterday. This silver maple stump had to come out. Its about 4.5' across and 4' high not including the buttress roots and root ball. It was about a foot taller but we collected some really nice spalted wood earlier this year. I plan on letting it sit quietly in the woods until this fall before I cut it up.

Bowl there should be a barrel full of bowls in that one. Great looking piece of wood Tom.

...maybe even a one piece drum shell :) :D (sorry - I couldn't resist).

Nice future stash Tom - can't wait to see some bowls from it.

Whats the above comment mean? ... is there some specific way I should cut this thing up?

TIA
