Here are some photos of my latest furniture project. The client wanted to make a piece of furniture from a childhood tree that had fallen in a storm. She managed to save a cross-section of the tree. The coffee table sits in her living room that had other country-kitsch styled furniture as well as an antique sewing machine and spinning wheel. I used the antique tool as a metaphor for the base. It attempts to mimic a hand-made wheel barrow base, because she also wanted a way to move the table by herself easily.

Jonathan,

Very cool project and nicely done! I like the idea of using (or re-using) something of the clients. I'm currently doing the same.

Good work.

Jonathan, that's great. You took something that is very special to your client and made it into something she'll cherish.
