Hi, have a possibility to buy one "used 4 times"... I can't find info on this on google or amazon, and not even on the Jet website! Their biggest is 18" that they show...however, I did find a pic of one, just a single page so far with no reviews or prices, on epinions... Does anyone know anything about this bandsaw, how old it is, why Jettools.com has no info etc.?
What would be a good used price for "used 4 times" on this? How would a 24" jet rate vs. an 18" Rikon or Grizzly or ShopFox (my older choices...).
Any info anyone can provide on this will be helpful, as I am hoping to get over there and look at it tonight..
Thanks!

The Jet website shows no such saw... I know the Powermatic is around 3400 if that helps

Thx Jamie, aye I also checked the Jet website, it's wierd isn't it? I edited my post to show that, so folks don't look there for info. Thanks for your reply!

Even logging into WMHtools, then to Jet, and creating a "user account" so I could view their manuals and photos of products, there is still not available a single photo or manual for their 24" bandsaw. This saw was built in 2003... it's a bit scary that the original manufacturer has wiped all knowledge of the thing from their website already...

Still hoping someone can provide input at least on the prospect of buying a 24" bandsaw for a garage shop. I have 9 ft ceilings, and wired in a 20 amp 230 volt circuit for a future bandsaw purchase. The motor is 3amp, 1 phase. Is this thing too big? No particular projected uses, but would like to resaw in future.

From a quick google search:
http://www.epinions.com/hmgd-Tools-Benchtop-Band_Saws-JET-JET_Jwbs-24_JET_24_Woodworking_Bandsaw
Which looks alot like this one: http://www.southern-tool.com/store/pm_bandsaw_2415.html

This place lists the Jet 24", but the pix is not the same: http://www.majorwoodworking.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=59&products_id=259

Here is another link to the saw: http://www.ptms.com.au/cgi-bin/PTMstore.pl?user_action=detail&catalogno=JWBS24

Cant find much more on the saw, could be it wasnt a US imported machine and they dont show support for it. It is the spittin image of the powermatic version and since both are wmh, its probably the same macine with a different paint job. There is a guy over on woodnet that goes by Toolman007, he was with Delta then moved over to WMH and as far as I know, still works for them. He is very helpful and acts as an official or pseudo official rep for the company. Hope this helps.

As for buying a 24" saw with the thought of maybe using it for resawing...I think that is analogus to buying a Ford F350 with the intention of hauling home a few sheets of plywood every now and then from the borgs. Yeah, it will obviously do the job, but do you need that much? Any of the 18" saws will resaw very nicely and take up less floorspace in the process. Your blades will be more expensive and as you are finding out, the parts are a bit harder to come by or even locate. If you are getting a real good deal on it, then whtat the heck, but all things being equal, a smaller saw would probably suffice. Just for the record, I have the 18" Delta and it does fine for me.

Bob, floor space is less of a difference with the larger saw over an 18" than height might be. When you get into the 24" and up saws, they start to grow "up"!!!
