I finally finished a nightstand I started back in October for my daughter. She wanted a hidden compartment so I left some space in the bottom that you can access when you remove the bottom drawer. This was my first casework project and my first set of drawers. Looking back, I think that the flush fit drawers might have been a bit ambitious for a first try, but they came out OK (a bit too much reveal around the outside probably). Anyway here are some pics, the last ones show the secret compartment.

Sorry, not sure why the pics are just showing up as links, when I was creating the thread they showed up as pictures but when I submitted them they showed up as links. Anyone know why.

John, it looks good.

Instead of hosting your pictures on Photobucket, why not upload them right to the Creek? They will show up properly and will be attached to this thread "forever".

Matt, thanks I didn't know that option existed. Unfortunately I do not see that option in edit mode so I cannot go back and change the original postings, but I will remember that in the future..

Use Advanced Edit. But be aware that editing privileges time out on a post, so do this today if you want to upload your pictures. There is a tutorial stickied at the top of the Support Forum that explains how to upload pictures to the 'Creek.

Very nice project! It looks great!

I'm going to show my oldest daughter when I get home from work...don't tell the boss I'm looking at SMC during work hours. I think she would also like the concept of the hidden drawer for her diary and other personal items.
