My best friends dad wants to sale his 15'' Powermatic planner to me for $700.00. This price includes a dust collection system from habor freight. I don't need the dust collection system but the planner seems like a good deal. He has only had it about 2 years and hardly ever used it.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Don't they usually go for twice that or more?

A no brainer. Considering a lunchbox planer goes for over $500 these days (DW735 - $549), he's making you a deal on a stationary machine.

Question is, do you have room for it?

BAD MOVE~!!! Don't tough it~!! This will be the single worst thing you do this year.

Oh what was his telephone number?

That's a lot less than what I paid for mine.
If you have 220, jump on it.

Only thing that could make it a better deal is it having a Byrd Shelix head already installed. When you get ready for some extra (and you will) knives, check out Globial Tooling. For sharpening, check out Dynamic Saw in Buffalo NY. Last year I gave $600 for a Delta 15", with an extra set of sharp knives.

It must be called eating my heart out. :D
I have been staring at the PM 15" or 20" planer models for a few years, and to pick one up only 2 years old, at that price is too good to pass up. It is a no risk buy, because getting your money back out is a piece of cake. (Not that you would ever want to sell it)
Go for it.
