Bought next winter's restoration project. The Red Fox must be one of the original bench thickness planers. It was made by Partington Machinery. No sheet metal on this baby - all cast steel. Manual says: "Where texture of wood allows, the planer will reduce it to as thin as 1/32" Don't think I'll try that but instead continue using a sled on the drum sander for my veneer.
