This is the 2nd HF Ive done.. used a hunter tool. 6 X 6 inches, one coat of antique oil, and buffed ..alot. The pith was left in and allowed to crack deliberately at the request of one of our clients who is giving it to a friend as a retirement gift. Used Starbuck's espresso and CA to fill the cracks..

Thanks for looking,
Tom

Nice hollow form. I like the pith placement and the intentional cracking.

Looks almost like shattered glass...:) That is a neat orientation - sure adds a lot of character! Nice work!

Very nice form and great character. The intentional crack/fill was well done too.

Dunno about the choice of filler though. Starbucks espresso is probably too strong. That HF is probably gonna get up and walk away on its own. I would have used decaf personally. Maybe the CA will sedate the espresso...

Sorry Tom, I couldn't leave that one alone. I do like that piece...a lot.:)

Excellent job and this is certainly a more unique cherry piece. Most folks don't orient this way for hollow forms and also include the pith that way, but it's just wonderful on this piece! Bravo!
