Good day

Just to end the "Triangles" subject on the two previous posts
http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=47242
http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=60083

I made bigger 45° triangle 20-11/16" x 20-11/16" x 29-1/8"

I used an Aluminum straight edge after checking with caliper that it has consistent width.

You can use even a plywood strip but it must be consistent in width all along.

You can stick the straight edge with Carpet tape (if it's Aluminum like mine) or screw it (if its wooden or ply).

You can use any width of straight edge, depends by how much you want to "enlarge" the triangle (I used 3¼" wide).

The rest is very simple, you just chuck a bearing guided straight bit and "Copy" side after side.

I had enough plywood to make 2 of them

The strip for the base was also made very consistent in width , then, I made a groove for the triangle and glue it with CA (super glue).

Hello Niki,
Thank you!
I can see where this will come in handy in any number of ways.
I've often wished my framing square had a lip on it when I'm marking a line on wider stock.

This should fit the ticket nicely.

I can't begin to tell you how helpful your posts are for a "newbie" like myself. Your creativity at making simple solutions, using common items, instead of rushing out to buy some expensive "ready made", is really helping to stretch my tool budget.

I believe it was your post on how to make a "T" square that lead me here to SMC last Fall. I did a google search for "T square" and one of the hits was that post. I was so impressed with the simplicity, I went through all the rest of your posts looking for more "tips" on how to do things.

Thank you so much

Reg
This post covers also the other two so you don't need to read them

Rich
You make me feel so good knowing that my posts saves you some money so you can buy some other tools that you cannot make yourself.

Living in Europe (Poland), the prices are at least double than USA, small example; Hitachi M12V router....USA=$120....Poland=$550 (no, it's not printing mistake) so I must make many fixtures and aids to be able to by "the big ones" otherwise, it will be very expensive hobby....

Thanks again
