Cherry HF with a lil curl at the opening. 7" by 7", buffed Antique oil finish.

This chunk was dry, been sitting in my shop well over a year. Thought it would be the perfect candidate to try out a new tool. :D I got the new Hunter carbide cutter for my hollowing rig. I still need to play with it some more to really find it's sweet spot, but I can already tell that I'm gonna love it! It's like having a bowl gouge on the end of my hollowing rig, lots of little curls from it.

Another gorgeous one for my favorites file. Travis, you just don't quit, do you? The form is perfect, that wood just sings.

Nice one - but judging from the reflection I'm wondering how you got Eddie Munster to do your photography.

Wow! I really like it. I may have to take up turning hollow forms. That's two things I'd like to learn, hollow forms, and winged bowls.

Beautiful!

Travis

Your work inspires me to do better. Wonderful shape and the finish is outstanding. How many coats of oil do you apply?

Perfect Form Travis. Do you find a lot of torque using the cutter that far from the tool shaft?

Forget the HF I want the tool now!!!
Actually started this weekend on desiging a capture rig for hf. It might be a couple weeks before I get to build it though. That tool would work great with my system!!!

Thanks again everyone.
Terry, I use 2 good coats of the oil. George, I get no torque with the captured rig.;)
Tyler, the cutter is available from several places, I got mine from Packard. A bit pricey, but works great. http://www.packardwoodworks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=packard&Product_Code=105817&Category_Code=tools-jamsn-hs-cuthold

Travis, Wonderful piece of wood made into a spectacular hollow form. I just love the way the grain is so dramatic and so clear! Who is the lucky owner? Philip
