Here is a piece of ficus that is 6.5 x 3. The texturing is done with the Sorby texturing tool and the finish is Watco danish oil.
Mostly just playing with the texturing tool a little bit.

That's a nice one Mike. I like the texturing, especially around the rim.

Mike, you are becoming quite good with the tool. Great bowl with good form. The rim really sets it off. My first reaction to the outside texture was that I didn't care for it but after coming back a couple of times I have changed my mind. Excellent piece.

Keith - Ficus does not seem to take the texturing very well but it is such a bland wood I like to use it for practice. The biggest thing I do not like about the piece is the depth I made the v grooves around the outside texturing. I think they should have been much shallower.
