…the $1800 benchtop CNC carving machine. It was all the rage when it debuted a couple of years ago. Man, I really wanted one of those puppies but decided to wait & see. It has been ages since even hearing the name, did they go belly up?

Not a member of the Craftsman club are you? LOL

Still around, and now sold under the Sears label as well. Item number 21754. Although everyone still gets the manual, and I believe other info from a forum on Carvewrights site.

CarveWright called here a few weeks ago wanting to upgrade my beta machine for a new model.......providing I send them another $500:eek:.

I don't use mine a lot but it has made some pretty cool signs. Since I do not have a lot of hours on the CarveWright, I decided to stay with the beta machine (one of the first 200).

I understood that they still were offering the machine under the CarveWright name as well as Craftsman CompuCarve.

We own one.

We also have the upgrade pending.

All though the machine paid for itself....

The other ditty that's pending is a rather shrill diatribe.

Sawmill Creeker's will read that here first.

I am surprised at at that. It just didn't look like it was heavy enough to use commercially

Hmmmm

How are your feet??

Per, any pics from it's use?

Have you done a review? How about one after you get the upgrades?
Thanks.

Well... If ya can't say something nice....

No I can say a lot of nice things.

Because we have a established client base,

we are able to use the machine to incorporate carving details into our work.

Selling small custom signs for $75 to a $100 a pop is a breeze,

but we are located in the most densely populated state in the nation.

No Cliff we don't run it every day, or every week.

And my feet are so happy.

Would I recommend it? Would I buy one again with what I know now?

No on both counts.

I promise, a ways down the road you will get all the details.

Here are some pics.

The rosettes all went in the coffered ceiling.

The Dog house sign, sits in a local club.

The elks went around door and window trim

Per, that was the general consensus when I was looking deeper at them a few months back. I found a few people that were fairly happy with it, a few that were unhappy with it, but I didn’t find anyone that was thrilled with it. If I'm going to spend 2K on something I want to be at least a little thrilled. One common denominator was evident; they all said that the CarveWright service people were good to deal with.

I guess I will give it some more time to mature.

BTW, your carvings look great.
