Sorry for this simple question, but I am relatively new to woodworking, 8 months and I still need assistance. I need to make a drawer front to match some cabinet doors for a friend. What is the name of the profile for this shape? If there is not a single router bit that makes this profile, what 2 or 3 bits are requied. Thanks in advance for any advise. Tommy

Falls in the general category of "ogee". It might be hard to find exactly that profile since a lot of makers use custom profiles. You could use a bit like this:
http://www.routerbits.com/cgi-routerbits/sr.cgi?1181868814_19713+60
with an additional round-over at the "top" of the edge. If you "google" router bits, you will find a million sources and you may luck out and find that exact profile although I have a hunch that edge is done on a large profiling machine

You don't say what the dimensions might be, but something like this bit (http://www.routerbits.com/cgi-routerbits/sr.cgi?1181868814_19713+101)(set shallow to avoid the step on the top) might be something like what you want.

Sorry about the lack of dimensions. This is just a 3/4 board with what looks like a 1/4" roundover, a 1/4" cove and then another 1/4" roundover. All the roundover bits that I have, have a bearing on the bit which would prevent creating this profile. Thanks

look on routerbitworld.com they have a good site to view bits. Just if you order form them it may take a bit to get they don't stock everything and communication is not the best.

Google for "wavy edge router bit". Should be able to spot one that's a fairly close match.

Tommy,

No reason to apologize. A wonderful thing about this hobby and this forum is that you can be a woodworker for 50 years and still learn neat stuff from the people on here.:D
