I am planning to build a planer stand and would like to see pictures of any stands built by members. I have looked through some pics that were posted in various threads, but I would like to see if there are any other ideas.

Right now I am leaning toward a 36 (W) x 34 (h) x 22 (d) stand on rollers. I don't know if it will have drawers or doors for storage.

Thanks for your pics.

This Is One I Built For My 20" Grizzly. Due To Back Trouble, I Built It High, About Chest High. Casters Are From Tractor Supply. (bigger Is Better).
Ron.

* I Uploaded A Pic, Hope It Is Attached.

This stand is 27"W X 24"D X 35"H. The bottom is open on both sides and the drawer can be opened from either side.

Here's a couple of other tool stands I made to give you other ideas:

This one is 37"W X 24"D X 33"H

Glenn-

I really like the concept here- thanks for sharing.

I saw the same basic idea in Wood several years back and have been wanting to do this. Not to hi-jack the thread but any hints or tips of things to look for or avoid while building this?

Thanks!

You guys put me to shame. Mine's just a funky plywood box on casters.....
Sigh....

I believe I still have a series of pics I sent to some other folks a while back. If you want to pm me an email that I can forward to, I'll send them along.

Here is one I just finished. I built it so the table was waist high at mid point in it's range. I also made new extensions, didn't like the stock roller extensions that came with the planer.

Glenn, you must have seen the same plans that I saw in a book called
"The Complete Small Shop" by August Home Publishing ? I built that one
and have my benchtop planer on one side and the benchtop bandsaw
on the other...works pretty good doesn't it? Jim Heffner

Mark , my advice is to carefully measure the machines that will be installed and size the opening carefully, so as to have plenty of clearance
for them to rotate in. Also, don't use too large of a set of casters,
this raises the working height of the tool considerably. Jim Heffner

Thanks to everyone that posted pics. I really like the designs. How stable is the top on the flip top design? Does it really feel solid or is there some play in it? I'm still leaning toward a straight cabinet with drawers or doors like the sketch I included below. Andrew, your planer stand looks very sharp.
