The little pads on my mouse were wearing out and it was starting to scrape a bit. I like a smooth mouse (have had optical mice for years cause I hate cleaning the ball rollers) so something had to be done.

I had a roll of UHMW tape (aka "slippery tape") that I'd picked up at LV for use with various jigs, so I tried cutting some small pieces and sticking them over each of the original pads.

Works great! Mouse now slides like crazy.

I have a Logitech cordless optical mouse. It had plastic pads stuck to it on the bottom and all have worn off...the UHMW stuff should work dandy!

The mouse for the computer in my office at work has small round pads and two of them came off. I was able to punch out replacments using some UHMW tape and a paper hole punch. So far the replacement "holes" are working great.

"I like a smooth mouse..."

You should check out the Mexican hairless mouse....don't get any smoother than that...
