I am getting ready to turn a shallow plate/platter and figure a glue block is the best way to mount the base to my chuck since there is not much depth for a tenon. (if you have other methods you prefer, please let me know). this is green wood and I am planning on using thick-set CA but wanted to know if I should be using something else. my last glue block failed, though that was probably due to a heavy catch and some punky wood. in any case I am a little bit weary since then and would like some feedback.
Thanks,
Ben

Hi Benjamin, I've had great success with glue joints by just regular Titebond wood glue. Had one failure on an oily wood, but everything else (numerous) has held up just fine. With clean surfaces, even spread, solid but not too tight clamps, works great. Best wishes. Jude
