My next tool will probably be a dual bevel sliding miter saw. Have been looking them over for awhile and still have not made the decision that a 12" is worth the dollar amount over the 10".
I'm not looking for a really portable saw, I have one of those. This will be for the shop only.
SO, what do I really gain with the 12" over the 10"
Also, what brand would you be looking at if you were buying?
THanks

Since it's a slider...which automatically raises width capacity when a straight SMC would require a bigger blade for the same...unless you cut thick timbers and need the height, you may be just as happy with a 10" machine. The bottom line is what do you want to cut with it? From there, the capacities will give you your answer.

I have an 8 1/4" SCMS that has a permanent place in my shop and it does the job for me. Thought about the 10" but after 17 years with this saw, reckon I'll just keep that where it is.;)
