Thanks to Joe T, Keith B, Jim K, and Travis S for all the design and measurements, I'm getting a few tools done. Travis had given me a little D handle, so I made a few to pass on his generosity.

In the middle is an octagon steady rest... I still need to get the wheels. Then there are four D handles and two tool rests for minis, and two more D handles and tool rests for bigger lathes. I still have to prime and paint them, but I am happy to be this far. I've welded a few things before when I needed to glob some metal together, so this has been a real challenge.

No, I'm not using them all. One of the big ones is sort of a bomb, but I had to tell the guy because he was talking about buying one. I'm keeping one little one, one big one, and the steady.

Ernie, when I first saw these pics I thought sure you were welding up a new rack for your lawnmower to hold some scuba gear/air tanks. Glad to hear you're accessorizing the lathe...

I think it's a conspiracy... There's not really any picture, is there? ;) Maybe it's like the emperor's new clothes.. if I squint hard enough will I see it?

Looking good Ernie! I can see the pic fine, but if I refresh, I get the red X. I saved the pic and will post it to quell any conspiracy theorys. ;)

Thanks Travis for posting the pic - like many others here I could only get the red X.

Ernie - the system looks great! I've managed to find some wheels and t-track but that's as far as I've gotten with my system.

Hope to see some photos of your system in action!

Aw man, that's just wrong. You're no good. No good A-tall.

Bill, no I haven't used them. Just got them to this point last weekend and I need to prime and paint. HF's to this point have all been with a Sorby Hollowmaster with the exception of one I finished roughing on Travis' rig.

Thanks everyone.

came out fine on my IE7 browser. Looks like your steady rest will be great. I have wondered about using 4 support wheels instead of the usual three. It must be nice to have welding and fabrication facilities at hand.
Good work
Jerry
