View Full Version : Ugh, I reversed the tubes

I made an olive wood cigar pen for my BIL since he's given me a couple big chunks of olive.

Turned out very nice. Good shape, good finish. Then I noticed I had switched the upper and lower tubes when I turned it. Argh.

Can't think of a way to make it work without returning the pen - even then I don't know if it would work, since the wood would be a smaller diameter than the bushings if I put them where they were supposed to be.

I guess I'll start on a fresh one tomorrow or the next day.

No, no pic. Maybe then it didn't happen?

You can cut/sand/file the black plastic piece of the parker refill until it works properly in the shorter barrel.

I wouldn't suggest this for a pen that you would sell, but for your own daily user, it makes a quick fix.

Well, someone else had that idea but I did one other thing, that was ,I removed the plastic gadget on the end of the filler and dremeled off the right amount and remounted the plastic and as you mention voila and it worked. Harry
