I was a bit surprised this actually worked:

It's another of my 'spiral' bowls, made from BB plywood. About 5-1/2"x3-3/8".

Turns out it actually is possible to resaw a glue-up of plywood and run the slices through a planer without having them turn into toothpicks. But it doesn't look even close to what I thought it would.

That's cool. From the side it looks like it's being pulled into a black hole or vortex or something.

That's similar top what I had in minde for a segmented piece. I think seeing how great it looks I will go ahead and try it. BEAUTIFUL!!!

Could you share how you went about doing the glue up?Same as before, just with plywood sawn "cross-face" (for lack of a better term):
