This simple shallow bowl measures 14-1/2" dia. x 2-1/2" tall. This piece was wet 2 weeks ago. Rough turned and DNA'ed a week ago and yesterday it was 8% mc. Anyway, your comments are welcome as always. Thanks for looking.

I like it Keith! Nice form and color. Good job cutting the detail around the rim and not blowing out a part of the side because of the inclusion. Nice work!

I think 14.5" is bigger than your Delta will throw so you must be hanging off the end with your new outboard rig. See http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=58357
How about a picture of the new rig in position on a big piece.
Nice Platter. I think platter/bowls are very useful for folks.

Frank, you are right to a point. I roughed it off the end but ended up a little smaller than I was shooting for so I finished it in normal fashion. I can do 16". I am gradually working up in size. My next one I hope is 20". I will try to document the process with some pics.:)

That's a beauty Keith. I think maybe an outboard thing is next on my welding list, but yours looks a little more complicated that what I will attempt.:)

How is the box elder to turn. I have a couple of blanks coming from Bill Fourness at Penns Woods and am looking forward to it. I am a beginner and want to do it justice.
Very pretty piece. Nice finish.
