Well one of my customers wanted a ring bowl like the one I made for LOML.
I bought some 8/4 Bubinga from Woodcrafters it's 12" wide x 26" long
She wanted it smaller so this is the result 1st attempt is the bowl on the right second is the bowl on the left. so far I have had about 10 catches making both bowls even with the DAM round scraper  I am using a Pinnacle 3/8" bowl gouge & I have blown up 5 attempts at making the finger. Good thing I was wearing my face shield I had one bounce off it. It would have caught me right in the schnozz  I even got a couple of catches making the bead for the rim using a spindle gouge
No more turning today I know when to quit.

Bummer Chuck, some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you. Keep plugging it'll get better.

Take it over to the bandsaw, cut a bit more off, find that other bowl that fell apart that's in the chips on the floor, glue them together, do a bit of sanding, slap some oil on it and call it art!

We all have those kinds of days Chuck. Just take a break and come back to it.

Chuck,
Been there, done that, and have the scraps to show for it. I agree with the 'turn the lathe off and have a beer' philosophy.
