As some of you may recall in my recent Wood Gloat post, I menioned turning on a 200# hunk of Box Elder. What I didn't mention was the tool I used. I would never have bought this 1" Bowl Gouge unless I had used one. I was so impressed with the one I used I just had to give up lunches for awhile and get one. It is setting next to my Crown 1/2" gouge. Now I just have to figure out how to sharpen it as it won't fit my Wolverine holder.

Where did you find it, Keith? When I googled the other day, I couldn't even find the 1" listed?

Nancy I got it from Woodchipshome.com. Last one he had but I bet he ccould get another. Highland Hardware has it but cost a lot more. Came sharpened too. I just tried it out and it is absolutely great !!

Keith,
It's simple to grind a larger diameter tool. Buy the Vari-grind for 1/2 to 1-1/8 tools... go to the Oneway site they have them.

Not to worry, it's just money. Have fun.

Great gloat Keith, a jig for this wouldn't be too complicated cut off a piece of 1 1/4" square tube drill a hole for the lock screw weld on a nut of the right size to fit the lock screw then weld on a piece of round stock for the foot of the jig use the angle and length from your smaller wolverine as a guide.
