From the pictures it looks good, but at $650 is it a good price?

Click here to see it (http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=1306074&cat=95&lpid=1)

Thanks

While I have no experience with this lathe, perhaps a little research on OWWM.com would lend a little insight. Looks like a nice lathe to me.

We just got two of those into my school's woodshop, and they're pretty solid machines. I like the low starting speed and heavy base, but the relatively small swing is a bit of an issue. If you plan to do spindle work and smaller bowls go for it. Though the price seems a bit steep,, you can probably sell it again for the same price since they're such tanks.

Do those two chucks come with it? If so, it's probably be worth it.

The lathe itself looks like it's been well taken care of, and the owner thought enough of it that they put the link belt on....

The only drawback I can see is the small swing. But if you were buying a Jet mini, you'd have the same problem.

I don't know what else you'd buy for the same price and get the same quality. Maybe a General?
