Rare posting from me, and a rare piece of Pecan from Warner Hall, the ancestral home of G. Washington's maternal family. Hurricane Isabella took down about a dozen pecans on the property owned by some friends who asked me to find a sawyer. I did and he did, and I got a couple nice planks. This is the result of one. 15in x 3in deep.
I find the upload/resize process awkward at best, compared to Picassa2. I hope the pics are up to be seen because the piece is one of very nice character. Philip

Philip, the pictures are fine, and that piece is gorgeous. That's a family heirloom to be sure.

Nice work on some Pecan, Phillip! I like to look at Pecan, but don't enjoy how hard it gets when dry.

Mighty fine looking piece Philip. I really like the curved lip.

Very nice work Philip! The history of the wood adds just that much more to an already beautiful piece of work! Thanks for posting!

Those are very nice platters. And the history behind the wood is an added bonus.
