This is an 8 x 3 1/2 mesquite bowl that I just finished last night. The finish is Minwax Antique oil and buffed and the wall thickness is about 3/16ths.

I love how the form accents the wood grain, or vice versa. Very nice work with the from and finish and wood selection. I can't wait to work in mesquite. maybe 6 months from now.

Mike, you and I are on the same wave length. I just finished applying Antique Oil to a piece of Mesquite with a form that looks very much like this. Very nice, BTW!

I like it a lot Mike. Nicely shows off the mesquite and is a very useful form, too!

Nice job on the form Mike. That mesquite is really dark. It seems to come in quite a few shades.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Ernie - I know their are at least 3 different kinds of mesquites that are recomended here in AZ (honey, chilean and native) so you see a lot of color varience. I dont know enought to tell the difference so they are all just mesquite to me.
