I fianlly got the camera to go! so for you viewing pleasure here is the new general in town!!!

Here are some of the pieces that I have turned. There will be more pics to come just have not photograpehed the new pieces yet.

1st pic - 18" diameter cottonwood platter. No sanding yet as the piece was sopping wet when turned. But it shows the outboard turning capability of the lathe.

2nd and 3rd - cottonwood burl bowl. 6" diameter 4" tall. This is my first bowl that I had absolutely no help on. It is sanded to 600 then car buffing compounded. Finish is a hand rubbed poly.

Oh the piece on the lathe in the other post was a goblet I was practicing on. It did not make it. I did not like what the wood was becoming so i just burn piled it.

The bowls look really nice. How is cottonwood to turn? I have cut a lot for firewood and split it green but never turned it.

Tyler it looks great ,but why is is the headstock only half on the bed?:eek: I would move it forward a little so it is fully supported.
