Greetings. It looks like I may be buying a used Unisaw. It will be transported in a low trailer, so I need to make some ramps to get it down onto the driveway.

The saw is on a Delta mobile base.

Anybody out there know the approximate "wheelbase" for the Unisaw? I was going to make a plywood-and-2x4 ramp and want to make sure it is wide enough.....

I'm guessing that 2' is too narrow but 4' would be more than enough. A 24" wide ramp would be easier to make out of materials on hand but I doubt it will do the job.

Thanks in advance!

Tom:

I have a Unisaw X5 the width of the base is 21 inches, with the Delta Moblie Base the width is 26 1/2 inches.

The wheels on the base are 3 inches and most likley not be able to negotiate a sharp angle onto the ramp. Plus this thing is approximatley 400 lbs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Greg -- it helps a LOT.

The thing will be coming in a horse trailer; I haven't seen the trailer, but she said it was less than a foot drop.

So I was thinking a 4' x 4' ramp would do it. I may have to mock it up and get a good look at the angles, though....

Thanks again for the info.
