Last night I found myself wanting to hang one of my chucks off of the tail stock as I wanted to do some glue up on a segmented bowl, I was playing with. Does anyone know of where I can get a #2 MT that would screw into my chucks with 1 1/4 X 8 Thread (Mustard)? Is there a special name for this that I can do a search on Gooble?

Thanks

Joe

Packard has them. Here is the part number 112830J (http://www.packardwoodworks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=packard&Product_Code=112830J&Category_Code=lathes-acc-tlstkadp) . Craft Supplies also carries them.

Joe,

The Tolly Brother's from Texas supposedly invented an adaptor that screws on the end of your revolving tailstock center. With this you can center and rotate piece into position. Oneway sells it for thier center but it fits on my Jet revolving center. Another thought.

Try this link. This looks like a good one for a resonable price.

As Frank says, get the one that screws on to a revolving center, even if you first have to get a revolving center (I reccomend the Oneway). You have a LOT more flexibility. For example, for the segmented vases I make, I built them up from both ends, with a faceplate on each end. Press the two halves together, maybe with some double stick tape, then turn the outside almost to fnished shape, between centers. Then split, mount each on the headstock and turn the interior without having to deep hollowing through the top. Then glue together, finish off the outside, then clean up top..perhaps using a steady rest.

Try the Live Center Adapter (http://www.oneway.on.ca/spindle/live_center.htm) at the bottom of the page.
