lumber storage

Hi- I have a bunch of 5/4 walnut lumber that has been stacked and stickered and kept in an unheated N. California (Bay Area) garage for about 4 years. When, if ever, can I remove the stickers and compress the size of the stack. Thanks -Howard

no problem after 4 yrs. 2yrs would be sufficient. Just be sure to keep it flat and in a dry place. any water(rain) getting in will rot it. be sure to put a row of stickers on a cement floor as moisture can wick from cement and rot first row if no stickers.
