I am looking for a source for red cedar woodfiller(in the Houston area)
but am open to any suggestion

The best filler for red cedar is...red cedar. Slivers of the stuff for cracks and small chunks for bigger areas...always with the grain going in the matching direction. You can get an almost invisible patch that way. Any form of commercial filler or shop-made filler using dust/glue is going to be quite visible after finishing.
