I won this piece of Mesquite at our club raffle. This is the largest NE I have done. Measures 13" x 9-1/2" x 5-1/2" tall and the walls are 3/8". Finished with antique oil and beall buffed. I'll tell you if I could only have one wood to turn, Mesquite would be it. Mark Cothren's NE pieces are my inspiration. Any comments/critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful peice Keith. I have to agree with you that if I only could turn one wood it would be mesquite. Nice job.

That's a dandy, Keith! You and Mesquite get along great, eh? Love the color and the bark.

Another great NE bowl Keith! Form and finish look great.
I have never turned Mesquite, will have to see if I can get some and try it out, it sure is some beautiful wood.
Happy Turning,

Beautiful Keith. I have had little luck keeping the bark on the local Mesquite I have turned.

Beautiful!! We don't have many Mesquite here in Vermont. May be Andy has them in Maine. He's even got an ocean.

Nice looking bowl Keith! According to the old turning adage, "if it won't hold soup it must be art", this one has just enough of a hole in it to be considered art too. You've done some nice pieces in that mesquite.

Nice piece. One question. How do you keep the bark on there? Do you use an epoxy or what?
Thanks
