Here's my most recent haul that I will be adding to my "turning stock" to help keep me busy this summer with "round" work. :)

Mark Cothren, Joe Meazle, and I all hauled wood from this one tree that was taken down in a guys yard in town. It was a rather large Sycamore tree. Mark got all that he wanted, Joe got what he wanted and I scooted by there and picked up the rest. Here's the proof.

BTW, the Pooplan chainsaw case there is an 18" chainsaw case. It took my big Stihl to manage these pieces. :D

Hey....I got two rough's in the alky bath now. :p

Had to put a rain cover over the jointer so the tables wouldn't rust from all the water. turning green wood is so much fun! :D

LOL. I'd have put off this "piddly" stack for that haul too. Can't wait to see pictures of some of the finished works though. :D

Bet you were a little sore getting out of bed the next morning. I see great things coming up in the future from that big tree.

Hey, Dennis. While you're at the bandsaw rounding off some of those blanks for the lathe, how about keeping your New Mexico friend in mind for some of those cut-offs? I received a sycamore pen in a pen-turning exchange on another forum, and that wood is fantastic. I'd sure like to try some, if you have some little pieces you can spare and will share.

Gee whiz.....all that time I spent with my chainsaw this weekend, and what I have is nothing compared to this! That's a mega-haul...should keep you out of trouble for a while.:p Or should I say, in trouble for a while?:p :p
