If I wanted a junky number four (preferably with SW features) how much would it cost me. Now, when I say junky I mean not pretty but I do want all the parts to be there and with as little pitting as possible. I've got an idea for a gift for a friend and it requires this. As far as that goes I could use a number three. I just don't want to go as big as a number five. BTW "hypothetically speaking" means I don't have any money per say but I do have a nice type 19 number five I'd be willing to trade.

I know you are wanting to cut it up and make a rabbet plane out of it. If you are email me first I can save you alot of heart ache. I have did this to a No.5 1/4 and to several block planes. If not I am totally out of line. I can usually find a junker No.4 for $20 or less.
