Well....I'm 44 and will be 45 in June......Sheesh....I used to think people in their 40's were "acient".....now only people over 100 are what I consider a Miracle.

I'm 5 months shy of the big 3-0. I see we're forming a pretty nice bell curve there with the results so far. Imagine that.

A young 61. Still have 10 fingers(mostly), teeth, hair, and never work more than 8 hours a day. Broke, house broke, broken down(just artheritis), and broken arches. Ain't life fun? ;)

Hi,

I am new to SMC. Mark Singer from Laguna Beach sent me the link and said this was a great web page with a great group of woodworkers. I met Mark a couple of months ago. There is no disputing he knows a lot about woodworking and design. I have enjoyed our conversations and time spent in the shop.

I am 30 years old and have been woodworking for approximately 4 1/2 years. I spent the first few years refining my skills by making several shop cabinets and some furniture for my home.

I look forward to sharing ideas and shop stories with the group and of course . . . learning from the group's collective experience.

I'm 41 until October. One month older than Todd. I'm the old guy at the YMCA. Still lift weights and play basketball almost every day. The only thing I notice is that I take a lot longer to heal. As someone else mentioned, 40-something doesn't seem old now that I'm there.

Noah, you are a young punk, but I enjoy your posts, so keep it up.

I am sad to say I am 42, 43 in March the same day as Jim Becker.

As George Burns used to say "I wish I was 18 again!" I would fix some mistakes, and skip the useless M.S. in Forestry.

Of course, it is better to be old than dead.

I noticed that you moved the thread to the OT side......Thanks for moving it....I just posted it to the PT forum side since the majority of the people hit there and never really hit the OT side.

Aaron,

Please extract the age stats from the database and post them here. Since we have the birthdates of most of our members we can get a more accruate graph that represents almost 90% of our members.

OK....let's see what the age groups of all us ww'ers is here on SMC.
Well, everyone-- here are the results of querying the SMC database.
For you statistics folks, it forms a very nice standard normal curve.
(Well, almost, there is a bit of left skewing, but the mean, median, and
mode are all very close)

There are around 700 (697) members who left their birthdays blank.
Of everyone else, here is what I pulled:

0 people over the age of 90. (Ken Salisbury? :D )
16 members in their 80s.
86 members in their 70s.
245 members in their 60s.
265 members in their 50s. (Keith)
240 members in their 40s.
105 members in their 30s.
6 members in their 20's (Aaron), and
No teens.
