Been a while since I posted any of my turning, so, just to show I'm still spinning wood. Was given this blank while on vacation. Wasn't going to take it, but sure am glad I did, it's loaded with curl. The dimentions are 4 1/2"H x 7 1/4"W with the wall thickness around 3/16". Finished with Minwax Antique Oil and buffed. Any critiques welcome and appreciated.

That's a very nice turning and awesome wood. Since curl generally doesn't show up that well in pics, that must be truly awesome in person. Thanks for showing.

I'm no good as far as identifying the species, but I know great when I see it and this piece is GREAT!
The growth ring spacing and the curl look just like the BP flatwood I got out of the 35 year old tree we felled a year and a half ago.

Awsome work on the HF too.:D

That is an awesome piece of wood, Joe. I realize you had nothing to do with that :D but you did do an extra fine job of displaying it with that turning.
