I hope to get my permit squared away later this week, if not, then first thing next week. I figure that once I have that, I should have the structure framed and dried in by the end of June. It would be sooner, but I have a weekend trip in the middle of June that I really have to take... (Parents 50th anniversary)

better shots, with the footprint laid out. I'm putting the shop 10' from each property line and 11.5' from the near corner of the house. Code here requires 6' from each line and 10' from the nearest structure.

also from the 'back' side of the shop, once the structure is up, this view won't get much traffic at all.

and from the corner of the lot looking diagonally. (shades of harry potter)

I've settled on a 12' by 20' shop. 10' sidewalls to the top of the sill with a loft over 1/2 of the building. Situated to maximize the yard and still have a usable shop. I can move over another 4' closer to the property line, and obviously at this point I can adjust very easily.

Sure will,
I now have two digi cameras, one is mine, the other is work's, but with a digi, what's the harm in borrowing it around the house?

I just have to renew my building permit later this week, then I'm off and running.

Congrats on the impending shop-build! I know you've wanted to do this for a long time and it's nice you're going to get started soon. :)
