I glued up some red oak panels the other day and they laid in my shop for a couple of days they were fairly flat panels. I went to the router table today and raised the panels and left them sitting on my bench when I came back a couple hours later two out of the three were cupped pretty bad. What do you guys think happened. Is there anyway to fix these panels after they have cupped. I have them clamped down flat right now. How do I prevent this problem in the future.

The concave side dried out more than the convex side. Lay them hump-up for a couple of days and see what happens.

To avoid, cover with plastic or store them so air can circulate all around.

Sometimes if the raw lumber was imbalanced front to back before machining, it will cup as it dries to uniform moisture . . .
