I have a 40'X60' metal building w/ a 4:1 pitch roof (about 20 feet at the peak). I'm looking for someone who has or has seen how to efficiently hang DC ducting suspended from the purlins & gurters. I don't know if metal strapping will be sufficient or if threaded rod should be used...I have aabout 12' to drop at the highest roof elevation where I need dust collection.

I am no expert, so take it accordingly, but what about using small (1/8-3/16) braided cable with cable clamps or better the aluminum crimp ferules. This would work well for overall suspension work with a few metal clamps here and there to give the ducting ridgidity.

Reg,
What are the dimensions of your shop? I really wish I had crossbeams like that, mine is a completely open construction, no intrustions under the roof.

Shop is 30X 40 for wood working and a addition of 20 X 30 machine shop. The spiral pipe came in 10 foot sections so they span the trusses I did put up some banding strapping to take a little weight off of the joists screwing them to the higher trusses. The spiral pipe was a steal @ $1.35 a foot and is 22 gage 6" dia. The 90's and the Y I think $15.00 each so look around in our area for fab shops that do air venting systems for some good prices
