HD lumber finds

I recently read a post about unusual lumber finds a HD. I wanted to post a picture of my latest. This may indeed be poplar but it sure is pretty.

I like these boards, I especially like the purple you see in poplar sometimes.

Those are really nice boards Don, I would have brought them home too! :D I keep scrounging throught the Lumber Rack everytime I go to the Depot, and maybe someday my persistance will pay off. I like anything unusual in the way of Lumber.........and even a species like Poplar can have beautiful coloration and grain....as these 2 gems prove. Nice score........I look forward to seeing something really nice from them in the future!

If my eyes are no deceiving me that Poplar looks like it has some nice curly figure in it. Am I right. Nice score for sure.

I need those boards for the tool case for my bench which is made out
of Poplar. Oh well Ill have to do some shopping around when the time comes for boards for the face frame & drawer & door panels.

I really like the different colors in Poplar. My bench also has what looks like some little worm holes & brown, black,green & tan colors.

Yes Mike, there is a little curl there. These two boards stuck out like a sore thumb among all the other light colored poplar. I first thought they were black walnut until I picked them up.
