Finally got my Beall buffing system. This is a wormy hickory bowl 7 x 2.5 sanded to 400. Finished with BLO and then buffed. A guy I work with has 100 acres of woods and brought me some hickory and cherry. I made this bowl for him. I ended up looking like the abominable snow man after buffing. How long does it take for the buffing wheels and mops to quit throwing fibers all over everything?

Steve,

See step 4 in Beall's Instructions (http://www.bealltool.com/pdfs/woodbuff.pdf) to remove excess fibers. Works great!

Steve...

Very nice bowl... Looks like I need to talk to my "auditor" to get permission to purchase the Beall system

What's BLO?

Phil,
BLO is short for boiled linseed oil.

Use all of your "husband points" and get one. It's a joy to use.

For some of you it's a joy to use but for me it is very shocking:(

Steven, it looks like you have been busy !! Very nice bowl and a great finish. Isn't buffing the iceing on the cake ? The fuzz will eventually subside. I had the same thoughts when I first got mine.

I've had mine for a few weeks and it's great! :D I got the system that Don Pencil sells, and his 8TPIx1"x8" lathe adapter is awesome.

Great looking bowl Steven. Yep the buffing is great. Do step 4 and things will be different as Jim said.

I don't think it ever completely quits. I still look like a cotton millworker every time I buff. :(
